Welcome to Bookish Events (“we”, “our”, or “us”). These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Bookish Events website located at https://bookish.events (“Website”) and the Bookish Events mobile application (“App”), including all content, features, and services provided through them.
By accessing or using the Website or App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Website or App.
1. Overview of the Service
Bookish Events is an online directory platform designed to showcase book- and reading-related events.
The platform allows:

Event organisers to submit, publish, and promote book-related events.

Readers and attendees to discover events and be directed to organisers’ own websites or platforms for ticket purchases or further information.
Bookish Events does not:

sell tickets;
-
manage bookings;
-
act as an event organiser, agent, or promoter; or
-
participate in the operation or delivery of events.
Any ticket purchases or interactions occur directly between users and third-party organisers.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Website or App.
If you are using Bookish Events on behalf of an organisation, you represent and warrant that you are authorised to bind that organisation to these Terms.
3. User Accounts
Some features require creating an account.
By creating an account, you agree that:

all information provided is accurate and current;

you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials;

you are responsible for all activity under your account; and

you will notify us immediately of any unauthorised access or security breach.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Event Listings and Content by Organisers
By submitting an event listing, you confirm that:

the event is book-, reading-, or literary-related;
-
all information is accurate, lawful, and up to date;
-
you hold the rights to all content submitted, including text, images, and media; and

all images and materials are either owned by you or properly licensed or copyright-free.
You remain solely responsible for:

the event itself;
-
event safety, legality, and compliance;
-
the accuracy of event details; and
-
any claims arising from your event or content.
You grant Bookish Events a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, distribute, and promote your listing across the Website, App, newsletters, and related marketing.
We reserve the right to review, modify, reject, or remove any listing at our discretion.
5. Payments, Subscriptions, and Fees
Some organiser features may require payment, including recurring subscription plans and optional promotional services.
By purchasing a paid plan or feature, you agree that:

fees are charged in advance;

subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled;

payments are processed by third-party payment providers; and
-
fees are non-refundable, except where required by Australian Consumer Law.
We may change pricing, features, or plans at any time with reasonable notice.
6. Advertising, Featured Listings, and Promotional Placement
Bookish Events may offer paid advertising, featured listings, or promotional opportunities from time to time.
Featured listings and advertising are promotional services only and do not guarantee:

ticket sales;

attendance;

visibility;
-
engagement; or
-
any specific outcome.
Featured placements:

are subject to availability;
-
may be capped, rotated, or limited;

do not grant exclusivity unless explicitly stated in writing; and

may change in position, duration, or format at our discretion.
We reserve the right to refuse, modify, suspend, or remove any advertising or featured listing that:

is not book- or reading-related;

is misleading, unlawful, or inappropriate; or
-
violates these Terms.
Advertising and promotional fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
7. User Conduct
You agree not to:

post unlawful, misleading, defamatory, or harmful content;

infringe intellectual property rights;
-
upload images or content you do not have rights to;
-
attempt to hack, disrupt, or misuse the platform;

impersonate others or misrepresent affiliations; or
-
use the platform for unauthorised commercial purposes.
We may remove content or restrict access if these Terms are breached.
8. Intellectual Property
All Website and App content, including layout, design, text, graphics, and features, is owned by or licensed to Bookish Events.

Your interactions with third parties are solely between you and them.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties

listings will be accurate or complete; or
-
future features will be available or functional.
Use of the platform is at your own risk.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bookish Events is not liable for:
